On the home front, Gemma's been busy playing, or more appropriately, trying to eat her toys. The days are filled moving her from one activity to another to stave off any chance of boredom, so we go from lying on the floor and rolling over, to bouncing in the Chicco, sitting on laps, maybe some Telly Tubby action and sneaking in a short nap here and there. And this sleeping in the evening business is quite nice. The routine is pretty well set:
1) a bath (complete with little feet splashing away)
2) a massage
3) the donning of a sleeper, which in a predictable fashion sets off the realisation that bed can't be too far away, and therefore...
4) a look of shock, horror and an accusation of deception all rolled into one, joined by plenty of screaming
5) a feeding to calm her down and give her vocal cords a rest
6) a pop into her baby sleeping bag
7) reading a book
8) lights out and fall asleep in the big bed, with a delicate transfer to the cot.
This gives Gemma about 12 hours in bed, interspersed with 2-3 feeds in the night. The nice thing is she usually wakes up in a happy mood and gives her parents a few minutes of her attention before needing to eat.
Gemma's also been out and about a lot, chilling in the creche in her club, hitting the museum circuit, heading to Lucy's for a dinner party and enjoying the local scenery.
