Uber-guests The Boys have moved in for the week, and living up to their reputation - more cooking meals, escorting Gemma to the park, stints of babysitting and other daily life-easing activities. Lucy also popped by on the weekend, giving the gals a chance to hang out, if not exactly together, at least in the same room. Liv got a quick look in from both, but then it was off to the toys.

Gemma started nursery school yesterday with her mate Hannah, and by all reports loving it. She's also now playing hide-and-seek, without always waiting for the countdown to end before she searches, then again, she's easy to hide from so we still have the edge. Liv's been napping and eating up a storm. She doesn't cry much, but when she does, it's with ample volume.

Not much news bigger than this: late in the evening of Saturday, October 18, Gemma got a new baby sister, Liv. Everyone's in great health, Gemma has been modestly, and increasingly, interested in her new sibling, and sleep hasn't been too scarce, so far. Liv is a big dozer and a good eater.

And while Liv was making her evenly paced way into the world, was Gemma fraught with tension? Um, no. She was whisked over to Hannah's at five in the morning to continue sleeping, stayed through lunch, then spent the rest of the day with Dee-Dee, who rubbed out any thoughts of parent abandonment through the evening sleepover and into the next morning.

By Sunday afternoon, everyone was back from the hospital, geared up for a full-on week at home. Gemma got a few trips to the pool with Dad, along with a music class, bits of park action, some shopping, a little video babysitting to take the edge off and general horseplay around the house.

First visitors were The Boys, in from Toronto for their semi-annual London jaunt, and continuing their top of the heap guest awards by bringing over food, cooking, cleaning up the kitchen and general calming effects.

Aside from some new arrivals, Friday marked the last time the Concorde floated back to London.

Gemma got her Canadian citizenship card in the mail today (no need to take the test). Her card has a snapshot with her hair in ruffian-chic mode. Next stop: passport. We celebrated at lunch with Lucy and KP, and later this afternoon with a swift one down at the pub; a little OJ for the newly minted Canuck, and a Pride for the ol' man.
