Friends
and Family
Who's who in the Hinterland?
Here are some friends and family.
| Well,
I grew up in Montreal - and that was great thanks to Mum,
Dad and sister Alison.
To say nothing of uncle's Nick
and Guy. And 100 or so
relatives on my father's side. |
|
|
|
And I'm married to
Kathy Brown. We have a fab daughters, Gemma and Liv.
Kathy's dad, John
Brown, lives in Kingston. Brother David is in Bracebridge.

Old
friends from Montreal include Cyndi Cheung (who now lives in London ),
and is friends with John di Gironimo,
Mark Lepage, who is also a
chum of Nancy
Wood. After undergrad in Montreal I moved
to |
|
Toronto, went to university
with, among others, Garth
Jopling, and met up with
|
|
Kristin
Peterson and Eric Fitz,
Erik Sande (once in Vancouver,
now back in Metro), The Boys»
Dave Lockwood and Jason Cass,
and Eleanor Fritz. Also
in Toronto I continued my friendship with ex-Montrealers
Kathy Petcher (now Londoners with
Brett Carron and Lucy) &
Richard Horgan, who's moved to LA with
|
|
Dawn
Sinko. Since moving there they've befriended McGill mate Rod
Findey. |

| London:
the Montreal-to-London connection expands with
Kingsley Burns, who's married to Clare.
A more recent arrival is Jasmin
Aquan-Assee. Cyndi Cheung is here living with Fred
Lucenet, and her sister Juanita
is doing her architect thang, along with friend
Peter Culley. Through Freddie, we befriended a neighbor,
David Shem-Tov. Through Juanita we met Samantha
Meah, and through Samantha, Mike
With. Claude Dugas lives
in Montreal, but is an honorary Londoner.
Doug and Sue came from Toronto to London, but picked themselves
up to Switzerland, and are now back on Toronto. |

In
Toronto I worked for Amex, where I became fast and furious friends
with Sue Mackay (and
husband John - master of the Beautiful
Game), Brenda Blake,
Francie MacIsaac, and
Wendy Shaw, who introduced me
to her bookclub, which includes
David Kent and Diana Cafazzo
.Tying the Toronto - Montreal thread are Ward and Deb. |

But
I left Amex for the dotcom world, then boomeranged back to the card
nest at MasterCard. Current colleagues include
Kamal Boushi and
Lisa Harrison ... with whom I used to work at Amex Canada. |

Both
Amex and MasterCard jobs afforded great travel opportunities, including
multi-trips to Sweden which allows me to hang out with
Emma Stenstrom. |

Ton and Montse in Barcelona |
