Today I got a book Top 10 CD from Willem, with everything from Radiohead to Sum 41, with somewhat inexplicably, Queen's Bicycle Race thrown in. What's with the Queen song?

Have been grooving, or rather, chilling in the most imperceptible way, to Susumu Yokota & Rothko's Waters Edge. Not exactly a hot off the press release, but it sandwiches itself nicely between the new Sigur Ros and the much older Music for Airports. Yup, it's ambient month around here.

A couple of new CDs in the past month:
Sigar Ros - Takk Clap Your Hands Say Yeah My Morning Jacket - Z Broken Social Scene

Still not 100% sure about the new Death Cab for Cutie CD. Have listened to it a billion time and like it enough, but not chomping away to sell others on its virtues.

The never visited Virgin store near the office is shutting down, and by virtue of it's 50% off sale across the board, their prices are actually, well, just OK. Caribou's The Milk of Human Kindness was originally in there at a ludicrous £14.99.
Other purchases today were...
M83 - Before the Dawn Heals Us Bright Eyes - Digital Ash in a Digital Urn
... and from iTunes this week

After seeing Rufus a few weeks ago (great show, less of a drone-fest than the CDs), one of his covers inpired a Hallelujah showdown. Playing for the title were versions by Mr. Cohen himself, pitted against Bob Dylan, Rufus, k.d. lang, U2 and the ultimate winner, Jeff Buckley.
Other recent additions to the library are Bright Eye's I'm Wide Awake It's Morning and the a couple from the Wainwright clan, Martha's self-titled record and Rufus's Want Two.

New CDs in the house and in the little iPod bundle of musical joy include: The Rapture - Echoes The Jayhawks - Rainy Day Music Joseph Arthur - Redemption's Son
A new CD and not on the iPod is My Morning Jacket's It Still Moves, thanks to the idiotic Copy Control block the brains at BMG have put on. Thanks for blocking me from listening to the CD I bought, good strategy.
